The Kalamalka Highlanders with pipers and drummers from the Arran Campbell Memorial Pipe Band plus pipers and drummers from the Kamloops Pipe Band, the Shuswap Pipes and Drums and the Robert Malcolm Memorial Pipe Band marched onto Dieppe Square at the Vernon Army Camp Thursday, August 15th at precisely 1730 hrs.  The massed band was under the direction of P/M Gord Mathers and led by Drum Major Al Beck.  With four ranks wide the band marched up to the show line, did a counter march then a second countermarch to head back to the show line.  Performers from the Argyle School of Highland Dance, the SADOK Ukrainian Dancers, the BMX precision Riders and Fire Fit Fire Fighters marched in behind the band.  At the halt, the Highland Dancers and the SADOK Ukrainian Dancers moved to the show area and performed.  The BMX Precision Riders, 22 strong, did a precision display.  Two fire fighters, Heather and Mike in full turnout gear, did a Rescue Randy body haul with the 180 pound dummies, an exercise in the Fire Fit challenge they are training for.  The band struck up with Black Bear and marched out to Scotland the Brave.  The Vernon Army Cadets then took to the Square for their Sunset Ceremony.
