With September 2013 coming to a close, we now have just 10 months until the Okanagan Tattoo 2014. Having performed very well at the Okanagan Tattoo 2013, even though the Tattoo was shortened due to time constraints, the performance was great, on time, crisp and the performers did a great job. We are well into the planning stages for the Okanagan Tattoo 2014 and updates and changes to sponsors and performers can be found on our web site, www.okanagantattoo.ca. Production meetings will begin in January and the plan is to have the music out to the bands, especially the massed band tunes, also by January. Some members of the local pipe bands (Kalamalka Highlanders and Arran Campbell Memorial) will be at the BC Lions Half Time Show, “Salute to the Veterans” and will meet with a number of the bands considering being part of the Okanagan Tattoo 2014. If you want to see and hear what the Grande Finale of a Tattoo looks and sounds like, log on to this web site. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RoQDRZP1yvQ This is the Netherlands Army Band playing ABBA’s “ARRIVAL”. This band was at the Pacific Tattoo in Victoria in July and played the same tune with our NADEN Navy Band plus 160 pipers and drummers.
