At the time of writing, we are heading into the September Labour Day long week-end.  This is a time to get in some quality family time, change gears from summer to fall and with the Tattoo, step up the tempo.  With Covid still an issue, getting together in large groups is still a challenge but the military bands and the pipe bands are at least outside and practicing as a group.  Not having marched and played together for over a year, it is time to blow the rust off and start to get the lips and legs back in shape.

The Tattoo Organizing Committee (OC) has been meeting and has kept up to date on everything that we could via Zoom and other social platforms.  When we get back from this short three day break, we have much to do.  We have stayed in touch with all the performers and performing groups dating back to our 2020 and 2021 cancelled events and will now be asking for some strong indication of intent for our 2022 show.  We know that the Black Watch Army Cadet Force from Scotland is well into their fundraising efforts to travel to Canada and we are looking forward to having them in our country and at our event.  Closer to home, the backbone of our Massed Pipe Bands are the local pipe bands from Kelowna, Vernon, Salmon Arm and Kamloops.  We are also expecting pipe bands from Victoria and Calgary and the invitation is out to individual pipers and drummers from across Canada and the USA to join us as well.

Our OC is completely volunteer and we will be looking for 100 to 120 additional volunteers at the time of the event.  We also have individuals working on our marketing and social media activities and these efforts will be moving forward at an accellerated pace.  Make sure to follow us on Face Book and Instagram as well as checking in to our web site on a regular basis.  If you are not on our mailing list, contact us via the link on our web site and we will get you on the list for regular updates
