Norm Crerar, Chair of the Okanagan Tattoo 2014 organizing committee, did a quick visit to the Pacific Tattoo in Victoria July 11-13. With a special pass to access all aspects of the rehearsals and a ticket to the show Saturday evening, his 28 hours at the venue were spent very produtively. The reports are that the show was outstanding with special guest bands from the Netherlands Army and the NADEN band from Esquimalt. Of the eight pipebands, all were police bands from the Victoria and lower mainland areas with one band coming all the way from Canberra, Australia. “We have lots to do over the next year”, said Crerar, “but we have the core of a growing team working hard already. We are looking for volunteers interested in military and pipe band type music and want to get involved”. There is a link on the web site for volunteers to sign up on.
